Story of the Week Saturday 6/25/11

OK, so I haven't become as regular with posting this segment as I wanted to be but that's because I'm super busy!!! HUGE thanks to all of you for that!!!! If you aren't familiar with why I write this, read the first paragraph here. So my next story starts out with one very loyal customer and two adorable girls!!! I was contacted to make 2 custom dresses for a fundraiser walk.....I didn't think a whole lot of the first email, I just said , sure, send me the shirts...when I received them though, it got me to thinking,,,Why were they walking? Who were they raising money for? So I sent Sharisa an email and this is what she sent me back...in her words....
"My friend's little boy Mos Flowers is 5 years old and is fighting Cystic Fybrosis. The walk is used as a fundraiser and also to acknowledge people with CF and what great things they are doing in their lives, and to learn about the great accomplishments of the foundation and the new medicines that will be able to help little guys like Mos live a full healthier life. We all have Team Flowers shirts, and this year I wanted my girls to be able to wear them year around and when I saw your post about sending you our t-shirts I thought it was perfect because my little girls LOVE dresses! The foundation's site is cff.org/great_strides and if you search Team Flowers anyone can donate in honor of Mos. Thank you again so much for this!!!""""
Here are a few photos that Sharisa sent me of her girls in their dresses with Mos.

Here is what Sharisa also told me when the walk was over when she sent me these photos...
"There are some really great medicines that are 'in trial' right now, and are showing great improvements for the patients who have been fortunate to be able to take them. Mos and his family are an inspiration to everyone that has the privilege of having them in their lives. Their last name couldn't be more fitting...it is Flowers and Marshall (dad), Meghan (mom), Mos (son), Myleigh (daughter), and Madi (daughter) are all just that. Flowers in your life that make you stop and think about the things that are really important. They never stop believing that there will be a cure for Mos, but they do not live as victims either. If you can't see behind closed doors, you would never know that Mos has this disease. They truly are an amazing family and I am blessed beyond measure to be able to call them friends."
I think Mos is a lucky little boy to have so many people care about him, but even more so I think the world is a lucky place to have a little boy like Mos and a family full of "flowers". Thank you Sharisa for letting me write this up and share and thank you for letting me get to know why I made these dresses! Help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis today!  If you would like to donate to Team Flowers and to Meghans(Mos' mom's) page please go to http://www.cff.org/great_strides/MeghanFlowers7118
