Jake and the Neverland Pirate Party

So my daughter is obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates! I never imagined that her fourth birthday would be filled with pirate skulls, red, white and black stripes, and gold doubloons! But it was! I took her up and down the aisles on multiple occasions at the party store pointing out the Disney princesses, Tinkerbell, Dora, and other pink girly birthday themes.....not once did she ever waiver. She'd grab my hand and lead me around the corner to the boy aisle and proudly point out the Jake stuff! Jake and the Neverland Pirates it was! I was happy to find tablecloths, plates, napkins, cups, and decor at Walmart, but now for the cake! I am not one of those girls who is satisfied with your store bought grocery store cake, but I'm also not one to go spend $90 as we were quoted on an 8" round cake at a high end store here in town....Sigh...time to put my creative mind to work! I went to a few grocery stores and browsed through their books. You know the ones set out with all the popular themes in them. I did find a Jake cake but it was white. Boring boring white flat background with an edible image of Jake and the Neverland Pirates placed smack in the center.....boooorrrinnngg!!! Nope wasn't gonna do! I kept going back to this Minnie and Mickey Surfer cake.
It finally hit me!!! Ask them to make THIS cake but don't put the Mickey and Minnie decorations on it!!! I went to the Disney Store and bought the Jake and the Neverland Pirate mini figurine set. It had Jake, Izzy, Cubby, a treasure chest with Skully on it, Hook, Smee and Tic Toc Croc! I hit up the party store for a package of gold chocolate coins, and a few party beads, and I nabbed one of the pop up table decorations out of the package of others bought from Walmart. I ripped the bottom off of it, so I could stick it in the cake and VOILA!!! A perfectly decorated dimensional Jake and the Neverland Pirate Cake fit for a pirate princess!!!!!!!!
So if you find you have a little one with an obsession of Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and you want a really awesome cake, now you can impress all your friends and family for a whopping $15 for the cake, and about another $15 in decorations....PPPHHHTTT $90 for an 8" round!!!!! Here are a few other pics of my baby from her birthday and a little video I made of her!

Awesome I have a friend who wants to make one and I searched for an example on how she could make one and found this page. I did not want to try and explain it all in a txt so I just sent her this link easy as pie or should I say cake, lol.

Thanks so much! I've been looking everywhere for a bakery that has a cake kit and no one does. My little boy will be 4 in a week and he will LOVE this!

Thanks so much, this is a great idea! My daughter is also having a Jake party for her 4th birthday. I found the characters at the Disney store and will stop at Walmart for the party decor. We spend enough money on everything else for the party, so it's nice to save some money.
